Droopy eyebrows, medically known as the condition of brow ptosis, can impact the upper eyelid as well as the eyebrow. People are often bothered that it makes them look tired or cross, which impacts on self-confidence. If the condition affects the eyelid, it can obstruct vision too.

Causes
Droopy eyebrows are generally a natural consequence of ageing though rarely some other conditions such as trauma can cause this condition too. The muscles in the face weaken and cause the eyebrows to drop.
If your concern is droopiness round the eyes, this may not necessarily be droopy eyebrows, it could also be caused by wrinkled eyelids. It’s important to determine the true cause before addressing how to correct these issues. A consultation with an experienced cosmetic surgeon is essential to identify the primary issue.

What can I do about my droopy eyebrows?
Anti-wrinkle toxin injections can be utilised to specifically weaken the muscles that pull down the brow, resulting in unopposed action of the brow elevator muscles and therefore a mild lifting effect. Although this is a non-invasive treatment, the effects wear off and have to be repeated at 4-6 monthly intervals.
Brow lift surgery, is an aesthetic procedure, also known as a forehead or eyebrow lift, that can help restore a more youthful and lifted appearance. It’s designed to rejuvenate your upper face by lifting and tightening the excess skin and muscles around the brow area. The procedure aims to minimise wrinkles, sagging, and other signs of ageing for a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

I’ve already been assessed for my droopy eyebrows
If you’ve already discussed your droopy eyebrows with a cosmetic surgery consultant, you may have filled in an assessment form from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. See Example.
If you have previously completed an assessment form for your condition, please do bring a copy to your initial consultation.
