Breast enlargement with uplift surgery, also known as breast augmentation with mastopexy or augmentation mastopexy, is a cosmetic procedure that enhances the size and shape of breasts. It combines the benefits of both breast augmentation, which involves inserting implants or fat grafting to increase breast size, and a breast uplift, which repositions and reshapes the breasts for a more youthful appearance.

What is Breast Enlargement With Uplift
Breast enlargement with uplift surgery, also known as breast augmentation with mastopexy or augmentation mastopexy, is a combination of procedures – breast augmentation, which enhances breast size with a breast implant or fat graft and a breast uplift (mastopexy), which repositions and reshapes sagging breasts.

Understanding why people choose to have an augmentation mastopexy and the associated risks and life-changing benefits can make you feel more confident about your decision to undergo surgery. This guide helps you explore these key elements.
Reasons to choose
If you want fuller and less droopy breasts because of the effects of pregnancy and breast feeding, weight loss or ageing, breast enlargement with uplift can help achieve your goals.
Benefits
These include:
- Enhanced breast aesthetics: Fuller and more youthful-looking breasts, improving overall breast aesthetics.
- Correction of sagging: Corrects sagging, restoring a more natural and lifted breast position.
- Improved self-confidence: Increased self-esteem and self-confidence as a result of enhanced breast appearance.
- Customised outcomes: You choose the size and type of breast implants for your unique desired look.
Risks
An augmentation mastopexy is typically a safe and effective procedure, but as with all surgerical procedures, there are some potential risks and side effects of which you should be aware. These include:
- Scarring
- Infection
- Implant-related Issues: Breast implants may rupture, leak, or undergo capsular contracture, which may require further surgical intervention.
- Changes in sensation

Who is a good candidate?
Breast augmentation with uplift surgery is a personal decision. If you’re bothered by noticeable differences in the size, shape or position of your breasts, particularly if you feel they are small and droopy, then this procedure can address these issues. A good candidate for this procedure should:

Be in good health
You are physically healthy and maintain a stable weight.
Have fully developed breasts
It’s recommended that patients be at least 18 years old.
Be a non-smoker
Smoking increases the risks of surgery, delays healing and adversely affects the long term outcome.

FAQs
Is getting your breast uplifted and made bigger painful?
A breast uplift and enlargement can cause discomfort and pain, as it involves reshaping of the breast tissues. However, pain management measures, including medication and post-operative care, are typically in place to minimise discomfort. It’s important to follow your surgeon’s recovery advice to manage any pain effectively.
Can you get a boob uplift and implants on the NHS?
Breast uplift and implant procedures are not covered by the NHS, as they are considered cosmetic procedures, designed for aesthetic enhancement rather than medical necessity.
Does a breast lift make your breast bigger?
A breast lift primarily repositions and reshapes the breasts, giving them a more youthful and lifted appearance, but it does not increase their size. If increased size is desired, this necessitates implant insertion or fat transfer in conjunction with the lift.
How long does breast augmentation and uplift take?
The duration of breast augmentation with uplift surgery varies, typically taking 2-3 hours to complete, depending on the complexity and specifics of the procedure.
