Quantum radiofrequency uses targeted energy to gently heat the fibroseptal connective tissue network that supports the subcutaneous tissue and skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing response, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, proteins causing tightening of the area being treated.

What is Quantum Radiofrequency Tightening
Quantum radiofrequency (RF) delivers an electrical current between two tips at the end of a cannula probe, which generates a controlled level of heat. The probe is passed into the soft tissue to coagulate fat as well as stimulate tightening and collagen production of the fibroseptal connective tissue network that supports the subcutaneous tissue and the skin thereby causing uniform tightening of the subcutaneous tissue and contraction of the skin.
Collagen production slows down with age, which is why sagging becomes more prone as we get older. By encouraging the production of new collagen, Quantum radiofrequency can halt and partly reverse these signs of aging.

Benefits
- Minimally invasive
- Reduced recovery time
- Minimal external scars
- Stimulates soft tissue and skin tightening
Risks
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Numbness

Who is a good candidate?
Patients who have a small to moderate amount of skin and soft tissue laxity and wish to avoid the scars associated with excisional surgery are good candidates for this procedure.

Consultation
Mr Ridha has a deep understanding of facial and body anatomy and how appearance is affected by the treatment. He will take his time to assess you and understand your ideals to develop a treatment plan which will achieve your goals and give you a younger, rejuvenated and natural look. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions and address any concerns you may have.
Procedure
After administration of the appropriate anaesthetic, a narrow probe that delivers the bipolar radiofrequency is passed under the skin into the soft tissue at the site to be treated through small stab incisions made in discrete areas. The probe delivers the energy to the entire area to be treated at different levels to achieve the desired effect.
The incisions are closed with stitches, the wounds dressed and a support garment is fitted.
Recovery
1 week swelling and possible bruising after which the benefits of the skin and soft tissue tightening becomes visible.
The tissues continue to tighten incrementally, followed by another episode of more significant tightening at 6 weeks as new collagen is formed. The final result can be expected at 3 months.

FAQs
How does radiofrequency work?
Bipolar radiofrequency delivers an electrical current between the two cannula tips at the end of the probe, which then generates a controlled level of heat. As the current is applied, the heat coagulates fat as well as stimulating tightening of the fibroseptal network – which is the connective tissue that supports the skin – this causes uniform contraction of the skin. All of which supports skin firmness.
Is having radiofrequency painful?
The treatment is made painless through the use of appropriate anaesthetic. There can be discomfort in the early postoperative recovery period, but this is easily managed with simple oral analgesics provided on discharge.
Can I combine radiofrequency with other treatments?
Yes, and this often can help deliver the best results. It’s commonly combined with liposuction, abdominoplasty, arm and thigh lifts and as well as gynaecomastia.
How long do the effects of radiofrequency last?
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and steady weight can ensure long lasting results.
