Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. The vast majority are caused by sun exposure and the use of sun beds, which lead to damage to the skin cells. Some families are also more prone to developing skin cancers, due in part to their genes. Skin cancers are categorised into non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSC) and melanoma.
Skin Lesions
Skin lesions are lumps found on or below the skin. The majority of such lesions are benign, meaning they are not life-threatening and are removed if they are causing pain, discomfort or simply for cosmetic reasons.
During your consultation, Mr Ridha will assess your lesion, with a dermatoscope to confirm the diagnosis prior to explaining your treatment options. Such benign lesions are usually removed surgically under local anaesthetic as day case procedures.
